Spirits were high at Chesham Grammar School yesterday, as sixth form students celebrated their successes.

Many of the students gained places at top universities, with the most popular destination for the Grammar School students being Durham University.

Mohit Motwani, top student at the school, gained a full house of four A*s and will be heading to University College London to read Physics.

After gaining three A*s and an A, Myles O’Gorman and Anya Davidson have both been offered places at Cambridge reading English Literature at Selwyn College and Engineering at Kings College respectively.

Headteacher Philip Wayne commented: “We are very pleased with both Year 12 and 13 who achieved a great set of results.”

“This is a testament to the hard work of both staff and students.”

The results come as Mr Wayne steps down as Headmaster after eight years, with Annemarie McNaney taking over the role.

Despite the change, the future continues to look bright for the school, after this year’s Year 12 cohort achieved 65.5% A-B grades, which should set up the school for a record year of results in 2016.

Among the AS successes this year are two sets of twins, Emma and Georgia Middleton, and Chloe and Laura Snell, all of whom achieved top grades.

Mr Wayne added: “All augurs well for their progress to university and for our Year 12 students entering their final year.”
