The sentencing of a 25-year-old man who pleaded guilty to making indecent images of children has been suspended until the results of a medical assessment are known.

Lee Hawkins from Maidenhead was arrested after Chesham residents reported finding CDs which allegedly showed “disturbing” images in September last year.

Mr Hawkins was charged on January 4 with one count of making indecent images of children and one count of perverting the course of justice.

The 25-year-old admitted his guilt at Aylesbury Crown Court on February 1 this year and was due to be sentenced at Amersham Crown Court this morning.

Judge Giles Curtis-Raleigh said: “I see that Mr Hawkins is speaking to the Aylesbury Mental Health team and recently attended an appointment on February 29.

“There is no report on this as of yet and I think that it is something which I will need. This is only going to be an effective sentencing if the information is obtained.”

Judge Curtis-Raleigh added that a suspended sentence was possible but that a jail term would be the first option for any judge in this case.

As part of bail conditions, Mr Hawkins to prohibited from using any device capable of recording digital media to disc and any device capable of accessing the internet.

The sentencing was adjourned until April 6 and will take place at either Amersham or Aylesbury law courts.
