The finalists in this year’s Buckinghamshire Business Awards have been officially unveiled ahead of a glittering ceremony next month.

Since entries for the 2017 business awards closed at the end of January, judges have spent months deliberating and visiting some of the county’s most successful businesses, before compiling a list of finalists.

High Wycombe accountants, Seymour Taylor, will go up against Chesham-based Silverson Machines and digital marketing agency UpriseUP for the Apprentice and Young Person Employer of the Year Award, sponsored by Bucks County Council.

Angela Spang, the managing director of Marlow-based female pelvic health company, June Medical, has been chosen as a finalist in the Business Leader of the Year Award – a category sponsored by Thomas International.

Dan Hancocks, from Great Missenden’s CoCredo, has also been nominated in the same category, alongside Jane Campbell from PCL Corporatewear, based in Pitsone.

A day care centre in Princes Risborough, the Princes Centre, has been announced as a finalist in the Enterprising Charity of the Year category, along with Weston-Turville based mental health charity, Lindengate, and Chiltern Music Therapy, a not-for-profit organisation that provides music therapy services to people of all ages.

In the Excellence in Customer Service category, Chesham-based Lennons Solicitors will go up against Rebellion Beer Company and accountants, The Fish Partnership.

Hansford Sensors in High Wycombe, SCHURTER Electronics in Aylesbury and Silverson Machines have all been chosen as finalists in the International Trader of the Year award, which is sponsored by the Department for International Trade.

Popular with families, the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre in Quainton, has been nominated for the Leisure, Tourism and Hospitality Business of the Year, as well as Halton UK and Stoke Park.

Three new businesses will go up against each other in the New Business of the Year category, sponsored by B P Collins – Active-In, Cube Video and Team Hen.

Meanwhile, Aylesbury-based KVA Digital, PulseFlow Technologies and Spoilt Rotten have been chosen as finalists in the Small Business of the Year category.

Buckinghamshire Thames Valley Local Enterprise Partnership is sponsoring this year’s Growth Business of the Year category, with Hansford Sensors, PulseFlow Technologies and VitrX, based in Burnham, as finalists.

Hansford Sensors, June Medical and Rebellion Beer Company have also been chosen in the Best in Wycombe District category, sponsored by Wycombe District Council, while Halton UK, PulseFlow Technologies and SCHURTER Electronics each have a nomination for Best in Aylesbury Vale.

Chiltern Music Therapy, Silverson Machines and VitrX also feature in the Best in Chiltern and South Bucks Districts, a category sponsored by Chiltern and South Bucks District Councils.

The awards ceremony, which is organised by Buckinghamshire Business First (BBF), will be held on June 30 at the Aylesbury Waterside Theatre.
