A Judgement in Stone
Building on the phenomenal decade-long success of The Agatha Christie Company, Bill Kenwright presents a new production adapted from one of the most celebrated works of the writer often hailed as the successor to Agatha Christie. Eunice struggles to fit in. When she joins a wealthy family as their housekeeper the very reason for her awkwardness, long hidden and deeply buried, leads inexorably to a terrible tale of murder in cold blood - on Valentine’s Day. Ruth Rendell’s brilliant plot unravels a lifetime of deceit, despair and cover-ups which, when revealed, brings a shocking revelation almost as grizzly as murder itself. The star cast includes award winning TV and stage favourite Andrew Lancel best known to TV audiences for his portrayal of villainous business man Frank Foster in Coronation Street and for the role of DI Neil Manson in The Bill. Tickets range from £14.40 to £37.40, available online at www.atgtickets.com/aylesbury.

Fourways Presents: The Merchant of Venice
Set in 1944, this fast paced production is direct and un-fussy in style. The musical backdrop includes Basie, Glen Miller and Benny Goodman as the G.I.s sweep into Venice and Shylock emerges from the rubble of war and the last Venetian Jews are taken from the ghetto. They present the play faithfully; the setting and time within the Holocaust giving added poignancy to the inherent anti-Semitism within the play. It is, after all, a 'comedie'; with a well-structured 'happy ending' to the love stories that are intertwined with the story of Shylock's demise. The serious themes speak for themselves in this unique production. All audience seating is covered for this open-air production. Book online at www.fourways.org.uk or call 01494 522722. Tickets: adults £24, concessions £12, family tickets £40.
