A man has been arrested after a robber allegedly threatened staff at a Chesham travel agents with a knife before fleeing with cash. 

At around 3.25pm on Thursday, a man - believed to be holding a knife - entered Thomson’s travel agents on the High Street, demanding they hand over money from the till.

The man stole some cash in different currencies and left the store on foot before fleeing the scene on a bike. 

A 31-year-old man from Chesham has been arrested on suspicion of robbery in connection with the incident and been released under investigation.

Investigating officer, Det Con Christopher Downs from Aylesbury Force CID, said: “This was a concerning incident in the community and we have launched a thorough investigation in order to locate this offender.

"As part of the investigation, we would urge anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have seen or heard any suspicious behaviour in the area to please come forward."
