LUCKY John Lewis customers were treated to a glitzy evening of high-end fashion for charity last week at the partnership’s country estate in Cookham.
The fashion show, a collaboration between company partners and businesses in the area raised £1600 for Barnado’s Support 4 Parents fund, with over 160 audience members looking on.
Models strutted their stuff wearing the new Autumn/Winter Collections in the shop’s first catwalk event since it underwent its £16 million refurbishment last October.
Dawn Stokoe, Community Liaison coordinator at John Lewis High Wycombe said: “It has been an amazing achievement for the team and I am delighted that we have raise this money for the Local Barnado’s Children’s service.
“I would like to thank everyone who gave their time and considerable energy in making this a resounding success.
“Our customers are already asking when the next fashion show will be, my thanks goes to the following small businesses that donated their skills and services free of charge.”
Businesses including sound and lighting providers gave their time for free to put on the charity show.
A Gucci watch and a designer dress were among the fantastic prizes donated by suppliers for a raffle and silent auction.
Customers bought tickets in store for the chance to be in the audience to get the first glimpse of the new collections, with the money going to the Barnado’s fund to help troubled parents with young children.
