Organisers of a music festival in Cookham have been given permission to increase the number of tickets to 9,999 – but plans to hold it over two days have been withdrawn.
80’s revival concert Let’s Rock The Moor will take place in fields near Lower Mount Farm on Saturday, May 16 featuring acts such as Level 42 and Rick Astley.
A meeting of Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead’s Licensing Committee decided to allow the increase in numbers from 6500 for the seventh annual outdoor show.
And an extension of live music has been granted until 10.30pm from the previous cut off of 10pm.
But ambitious plans to extend the popular festival to run onto to Sunday were scrapped during the meeting.
The council has agreed to the swell in numbers, despite numerous objections to the plans from residents and the Cookham Society.
And the licence variation was agreed on the condition that police and authorised council officers should be shown evidence of the number of people on site at any time during the event.
Other artists performing at May's festival include Hot Chocolate, Betty Boo and members of Eurovision Song Contest winning group Bucks Fizz.
