High Streets in Bucks will receive a boost from next month in the form of help to provide online "click and collect" services in their stores.
The Government will give shops and business help to install click and collect lockers at their premises without planning permission.
It is hoped this will entice more customers back to the High Street as they pop into town centre stores to pick up purchases made on the internet.
Government figures show the UK is the biggest user of click and collect services, with use expected to double within three years.
It is part of a package of help and advice, spearheaded by Google director Peter Fitzgerald, to help shops compete better in the digital world.
At the launch, housing and planning minister Brandon Lewis said: "How we shop is changing radically and I want to help our high streets thrive from online competition.
"Today’s measures will mean even more retailers can offer ‘click and collect’ services, encouraging shoppers to visit their businesses and pick up their purchases at a time that suits them."
