A village primary school is hoping to raise funds to support the visit of two teachers who work at their twin school in Zambia.

Carrington Junior School in Flackwell Heath is twinned with the Libala Basic School in Lusaka as part of the Wye Valley Zambia Project.

The school, in Chapel Road, will welcome the two teachers making the trip from Zambia two weeks before the Easter holidays.

In a letter home to parents, the Carrington’s deputy headteacher, Mrs Gardener, said: “The last time teachers came from Zambia, it was very exciting for the pupils and they enjoyed learning all about life in Zambia.”

In order to support the trip the school are going to host two events in the next month.

They will start with a special Frozen sing-along cinema day in the school on January 28 with pupils invited to bring cushions, beanbags or pillows to make themselves comfortable for one of the best children’s films of 2014.

The school will also hold a mufti-day on February 13 to help raise money for the event.
