Young pupils at a village school in Flackwell Heath pulled off a series of showstoppers last week as they held their own charity ‘bake-off’ event.

Carrington Junior School, in Chapel Road, recently decided to support Rosie’s Rainbow Fund – a charity dedicated to providing music therapy for special needs children in Bucks – and raised £200 with a cake competition.

The rainbow themed cakes were judged by teachers and four students were rewarded for their creative efforts on Friday.

Emma Buckley (Year 3), Mia Large (Year 4), Josh Pedley (Year 5) and Kira Hughes (Year 6), were the winners on the day.

Helene Czornyj, ambassador of the charity and member of staff at Carrington, said: “I’m so proud of how the children have enthusiastically been involved in raising money for Rosie’s Rainbow Fund.

“It helps the charity continue to support many families of seriously ill and disabled children.”
