A children’s football club is edging closer to buying potentially lifesaving equipment after a "generous" donation from the community.
Flackwell Heath Minors’ hopes of purchasing a defibrillator to keep at their Green Dragon Lane clubhouse have been boosted after amateur golfers in the village clubbed together.
During the Festival of Football on Saturday, former Flackwell Heath Golf Club captain Denis Clarke presented Minors’ chairman Declan Breen with a cheque for £300.
Mr Breen said: “It’s a fabulous gesture and is testament to the great relationship we have with the golf club.
“Both clubs are an asset to the community and a number of our young boys and girls are also members of the junior golf academy.”
