Wide-eyed children across High Wycombe were overjoyed as they received early presents from Father Christmas last week.

Hundreds of parcels were delivered to youngsters in Micklefield, Loudwater and the Wycombe Marsh area as Santa and his helpers looked to spread the Christmas cheer.

Following a successful outing across Ryemead and Micklefield 12 months ago, organisers decided to bring Santa’s sleigh out again.

Councillors Trevor Snaith, Ray Farmer and Paula Lee were all involved in the planning of the event in conjunction with Wycombe charity One Can Trust.

With Father Christmas’ reindeer all being rested for their journey on Christmas Eve a festive car was seen towing the North Pole resident and his elves around the town.

Presents were given to the children on the good list and all money raised from generous donations will be spread between One Can Trust, The Rotary Club who provided the sleigh and a chosen charity from each of the areas.

The founder director of One Can Trust, Sarah Mordaunt, said: “At a time when so many people are struggling financially, we are humbled by the support of our local community who wrapped presents and knocked on doors as we helped Father Christmas share gifts and fun in East Wycombe this week.”

In pictures taken on Friday, Santa can be seen in Loudwater handing out presents to youngsters of all ages, with many coming out of their homes to enjoy the festive period.

His large crew of helpers were seen knocking on doors across the village after making a quick pit stop at the Bucks Free Press offices.
