Thousands of people across South Bucks witnessed the incredible moment that almost 100 cyclists set off on the final stage of the Aviva Women's Tour yesterday. 

The cyclists set off from Marlow High Street at 10.45am, with the first cyclist, Hannah Barnes, crossing the line after 2 hours, 40 minutes and 51 seconds. 

After leaving Marlow, the competitors cycled west through Danesfield, kicking north through Mill End before weaving a route past Lane End, Stokenchurch, Piddington, West Wycombe, Bledlow Ridge and Bryants Bottom, before a Queen of the Mountain race out of the district, up Cryers Hill and into Prestwood.

After that, the riders sped into Great Missenden, Chesham and Tring, before the final stretch to the finish line through Potten End and arriving in Hemel Hempstead.

British cyclist Hannah Barnes, of United Women’s Healthcare, won the final stage with a time of 2 hours, 40 minutes and 51 seconds.

The 22-year-old was also awarded the jersey for Best Young Rider and Best British Rider.

Australian rider, Melissa Hoskins, was awarded the jersey for the Queen of the Mountains. 

German cyclist Lisa Brennauer, of team Velocio-SRAM, was the overall winner with a time of 15 hours, 3 minutes and 24 seconds.
