The majority of south Buckinghamshire students appeared to find their GCSE studies as easy as ABC this year, as the year group looks to the future after years of hard work.

There were plenty of smiles after an initial buzz of nervous tension, with thousands of teenagers across the county celebrating a remarkable set of exam results.

From those who achieved a full set of A*s to others who had to fight challenging circumstances to achieve their targets, there were many personal success stories.

Royal Grammar School student Fred Jennings, 16, from West Wycombe achieved 10 A* grades and two A’s.

He said: “I’m really pleased, I worked hard and these are great, plus I had to do some of the exams with a broken finger after a rugby injury.”

Across town, girls at Wycombe High School celebrating another set of excellent results. Star pupil Jasmine Allen, 16, said: “It went very well, I wasn’t expecting it. I’m absolutely delighted and can’t wait for sixth form.”

In Marlow, Sir William Borlase Grammar School student Sarah Williams achieved nine A*s and one A. She said: “I’m really pleased. I worked really hard so it’s good to see it all pay off.”
