A record number of people are believed to have watched the spectacular Kop Hill Climb at the weekend.

The annual event has grown in popularity with an estimated 16,500 visitors taking in the sights in Princes Risborough on Saturday and Sunday.

From the classic soapbox racing challenges to vintage vehicles, this year’s parade was considered one of the best yet since the event was revived in 2009.

Kop Hill Climb organiser spokesman Sara Beaumont said: “Superb weather and a fantastic mix of cars and motorcycles on the hill, and a paddock packed with things for the whole family to see and do, made it a great day out for families and enthusiasts alike.

“The whole town of Princes Risborough could see the spectacle of cars and bikes as they returned through the streets after their hill runs to make their way back to the paddock at Kop Hill.”
