More than 2,000 young footballers took part in Flackwell Heath's "biggest ever" festival of football at the weekend.

Boys and girls from as far away as London, Middlesex and Surrey travelled to the annual six-a-side football tournament on June 4 and 5.

The two-day celebration of the sport, which was hosted by Flackwell Heath Minors FC at Green Dragon Lane Recreation Ground, saw more than 250 different teams take part - the team's biggest ever turnout.

Club chairman, Declan Breen, said the annual event is now "one of the biggest children's football tournaments in Bucks and Berks."

He said: “It was a fantastic weekend, the weather was great and we had tremendous support from the whole community especially all the coaches, parents and volunteers who helped organise the event over the two days.”

Supportive parents enjoyed refreshments from the tea bar and beer tent as they cheered from the sidelines, while the young footballers took a break from the pitch to make the most of the bouncy castle and slide.
