Smiling in the garden she loved, alongside one of her greatest companions.

This picture is one of the first to emerge of 81-year-old widow Tina Choules, found dead on the lawn outside her house after a brutal killing which has shocked the community.

Investigations are continuing in the grounds of her sprawling property after her dead body was found by police officers on Wednesday morning.

A post-mortem was carried out last night, while a 23-year-old High Wycombe man remains in custody arrested on suspicion of her murder.

Described as “peaceful” and a “lovely lady” by those who knew her best, Mrs Choules lived by herself in the large Ragmans Lane property following the death of her husband Michael 12 years ago.

The tranquil village of Marlow Bottom was rocked following the discovery of the pensioner’s body, feared to have been burned after disturbing a burglar.

Having been called to the address at 6.30am on Wednesday morning, one of the first police officers to arrive at the scene was attacked and left needing hospital treatment after being confronted by a man.

Detectives and forensic teams have been working at the address even since, with a cordon still in place at the property.

Following Mrs Choules’ death, tributes have poured in from neighbours and friends.

And her beloved flat-coat retriever is now being looked after by kind-hearted villagers.
