Princesses, fairies and animals celebrated World Book Day at a school in Marlow last week.

Pupils at Marlow C of E Infant School enjoyed a week of book-related activities to mark the annual celebration which took place on March 2.

A competition that has been running since half term has seen the infants compete to get a photograph taken of themselves reading in the most unusual place.

They also enjoyed a school-wide maths day, which saw each year group given a different book around which they were set maths challenges and problems to solve and an annual bedtime story event, where children returned to school at 6pm yesterday dressed in their pyjamas to enjoy a story with their classmates.

Staff are also challenging the children to take part in a readathon – a sponsored reading event to raise money to provide books and storytellers to children’s wards in the UK.

On Monday, March 27, the school, in Sandygate Road, are set to create a tower of books in a bid to show how many books the pupils have read and announce how much money they have raised.
