Some of the biggest names from the eighties rocked Cookham at the weekend as the sold-out retro festival, Let’s Rock The Moor, returned to entertain music fans once again.

The one-day eighties pop festival celebrated its tenth anniversary on Saturday, with a stellar line-up of performers including Adam Ant, Tony Hadley and Heather Small showing off their talents in front of the delighted crowds.

Celebrating their decade of success in style, the festival finished with a spectacular fireworks display following a day of retro tunes.

The sun shone as Spandau Ballet front man and star in his own right, Tony Hadley, opened the show. The musician said he had a “brilliant” day at the festival, which coincided with the Royal Wedding.

Meanwhile, Scottish musician Midge Ure, Brother Beyond and Altered Image also rocked the stage.

Although it once again went head-to-head with Tom Kerridge’s popular Pub in the Park festival in Marlow, the music festival was the biggest and best yet in a bid to mark the Let’s Rock! anniversary, with DJ Sara Cox presenting the best eighties music, an extended Kid’s Kingdom, including The Sooty Show Live, and Carter’s Steam Fair.

There was also a popular food court, trader’s village, shisha lounge and charity auction.

After dancing in the sun, there was an opportunity to cool off at the craft ale tent and those who worked up an appetite could enjoy a fine dining experience by Malik’s restaurant.

With this year’s festival done and dusted, there is no time to rest for Let’s Rock organisers, who are already making big plans for the 11th annual show in 2019. Early bird tickets for the show are expected to go on sale in August.
