PADSTONES, a charity that looks after homeless teenagers in Bucks, is hosting its Annual Quiz Night tonight (Friday, March 11) at Davenies School in Station Road, Beaconsfield. The event will run from 7pm to 10.30pm, with teams of 2-10 people. Tickets are £15pp including a hot supper. IAIN Rennie Hospice at Home is inviting music enthusiasts to join them at St Michael and All Angels Church in Beaconsfield on Saturday, March 12 for a fundraising evening to listen to the highly acclaimed Ascot Brass featuring Megan Cave, piano and Amy Sheldon, saxophone. BEACONSFIELD and District Historical Society will be holding their AGM followed by a talk by Julian Hunt, author of Beaconsfield, A History, called 'A Forgotten Bucks Town' on March 12. THERE will be free self-defence workshops for adults and children at Gerrards Cross Memorial Centre on March 13 at various times during the day. Led by two experienced martial arts instructors, content covered on the courses include positive, confident body language, threat awareness and avoidance, techniques to de-escalate aggression, biological and cognitive response to fear, how to recognise and respond to it and self-defence and escape techniques. THE monthly antique fair will return to Gerrards Cross Memorial Hall on March 20. From 10am, there will be a range of antiques from 35 dealers. There is disabled access, free parking and a café. Entry is £1.
