Detectives are searching for the driver of a car which hit a 14-year-old girl after she got off a school bus.

The teenager was crossing Bangors Road North, in Iver Heath, when she was struck by a passing silver or grey BMW saloon car at around 4.30pm on Friday (September 30).

The driver, described as a white woman in her seventies, stopped and spoke to the girl before continuing on her journey.

The girl was later taken by ambulance to Wexham Park Hospital and needs surgery on her right ankle, which was fractured. She also had cuts and bruising to her legs.

Investigating officer PC Jerry Davies, of the Roads Policing Unit based at Amersham, said: "We are keen to speak to the driver or anyone who witnessed the incident".

"The girl had been crossing the road with a group of other school pupils who had got off the 912 Imperial Service from the Chalfont Community College. The girl was dressed in school uniform at the time.”
