Take a look at some of the events happening in your area over the next few weeks. 

  • Hazlemere fete returns this weekend on Bank Holiday Monday. There will be an RAF flypast (subject to weather conditions) as well as alpacas, a dog show, bouncy castle, WWII exhibition, Judo display, military vehicles, penalty shootout, classic cars and punch and Judy, as well as food stalls and other side shows. The fete starts at 12pm and runs until 5pm at Hazlemere Community Centre in Rose Avenue. Enquiries to 07773333589.
     
  • Head down to Holmer Green Sports Association Grounds for miniature train rides on Sunday, August 30. The High Wycombe Model Engineering Club holds its Public Running Days on its raised track at the grounds in Watchet Lane. From 11am until 5pm, you can enjoy the trains as they are pulled by steam or electric locos around a picturesque dumbbell shaped track.
     
  • The Village Pre-School is celebrating its 50th birthday with a day of fun for all the family next month. On September 26 from 10am to 2pm, there will be a raffle, tombola, face painting, nail painting, temporary tattoos, bouncy castle, lucky dip, hook the duck, cake stall and refreshments, beat  the goalie and arts and craft stalls. Head down to the Front Common, near the pond, in Tylers Green.
     
  • Grab some bargains at a new and nearly new sale in Tylers Green Village Hall on September 12 from 2pm to 3.30pm. Sell or take home quality household items, clothes, books, toys and baby equipment. It costs £10 to have a stall, with these proceeds donated to Orla's Own Steps. The entrance fee of £1 will also be donated to the charity. There will be tea, coffee and cakes available on the day. Visit www.facebook.com/OrlasownSteps for more information.
