Firefighters had to free a 12-year-old school boy this morning whose finger was caught in a sewing machine for at least nine minutes.
Bucks Fire and Rescue were called to release the boy - a student at Sir William Ramsay School, Hazlemere - at around 9.27am this morning.
The service confirmed a sewing machine needle - believe to be around 5cm long - had gone through the index finger on the boy's left hand.
The student was given pain relief and then taken to A&E at around 10.30am to have the needle removed from his finger.
Mark Mayne, head at Sir William Ramsay School, confirmed that the school's matron followed correct proceedure and the boy was taken to hospital by his family.
Mr Mayne added: "The student concerned is fine and he has since been back to the fire station to thank the service for their help."
