A popular pub in Hazlemere has gone up for sale for the second time in six years as the owner prepares to pull her last pint.

The Mayflower, on Penn Road, has been put up on the market with a leasehold price of £105,000 through Fleurets, a leisure property specialist.

The ‘attractive’ pub, which is popular with Penn and Hazlemere residents as well as regular golf players at nearby Hazlemere Golf Club, boasts two trading areas as well as three bedroom accommodation and a children’s play area.

This is the second time the pub has been put on the market in six years - Hazlemere couple Steve and Sue Pitkin renovated and ran the pub from 2010, before Lise Johansen took over as landlady in 2014.

Speaking to the Bucks Free Press in May 2014, Ms Johansen said she had given up a career as an accountant to run a pub for the first time and hoped to make The Mayflower more child-friendly.

Now Ms Johansen has decided it is time to pull her last pint and move on from the pub industry, but will miss all the regulars she has got to know over the years.

She said: “I have had a fantastic time running the pub over the last two years, the locals here are so nice and I am really going to miss them all.”
