Police have reassured residents in Hazlemere that it is “business as usual” despite their police station going up for sale.

The Chepping Wycombe Policing Team will eventually relocate to High Wycombe police station but will continue to patrol and support the area as usual as their office on the Penn Road goes on the market.

The police station is not open to public and is mainly used as an administrative base for the team.

The force has already put Marlow Police Station up for sale and in December last year, announced plans to close a number of station front desks, including Chesham and Gerrards Cross, in a bid to save money.

Saving money on their buildings will enable them to “protect frontline policing”, they say.

Wycombe Rural Neighbourhood Inspector Rob Kightley has reassured residents that their move will not affect their responses to crimes.

He said: “The Chepping Wye Valley Neighbourhood Policing Team is to move office but there will be no change to the service they provide to the public in the area.

“They will continue to patrol as usual, responding to the public and be a part of the community they serve. The team will maintain the same level of visible presence and continue to patrol in accordance with their neighbourhood priorities.

“The relocation will not affect response times to incidents requiring immediate police action.”
