A cyclist has been left injured after crashing off his bike on a busy main road near Hazlemere Crossroads.

Emergency services, including an air ambulance, were called to the scene of the crash, in Holmer Green Road, at about 1.15pm.

The road was closed for just over an hour, but has since been reopened after paramedics treated the male cyclist at the roadside before taking him to John Radcliffe Hospital.

The crash caused long delays in the Hazlemere area, with the busy road often used by people travelling to or from High Wycombe.

Earlier reports suggested a car was involved in the crash, but police have since confirmed that the incident only involved a cyclist.

South Central Ambulance Service has not yet confirmed the injured man’s current condition.
