From High Wycombe to Wembley the support for Wanderers has been coming thick and fast this week with residents and business owners painting the town blue.

In a bid to give the club a timely boost before their League Two play-off on Saturday, fans have been hanging out bunting and flags in anticipation.

Schools, estate agents, furniture stores, pubs and even florists are doing their bit for the cause and showing their support for the Chairboys.

In their first visit to Wembley Stadium for 21 years, Wanderers are aiming to be promoted to League One, just a year after they were almost relegated from the football league.

With the club needing as much support as possible, the town appears to have nailed their colours to the mast.

One of the first to don the Blues’ colours was furniture company The StudyBed Company, based in Oxford Road, with staff completely changing their window display ahead of the game.

Managing director Ben Berry said: “It has brought an instant smile to several passing faces, it really seems as if the whole town is behind the club, willing them to success.”

Darrell Litchfield, a partner at Wye Residential, said: “A lot of local people work here and me and a couple of my colleagues will be going to Wembley.

“We put good luck posters up for the last game and now we’ve got balloons up as well.”

And, owner of High Street florists, Pollenation, Jen Beshaw, said: “People really seem to like the display and have been taking pictures and sharing them all over the internet.”
