On call firefighters are daring to ‘brave the shave’ for charity over the bank holiday weekend.
Firefighters from Bucks Fire and Rescue, Michael Brett, Kyle Gilmore and Andrew Hone are having their heads shaved by a High Wycombe barbers to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support on August 27.
Mr Brett, whose grandfather has been battling skin cancer, talked about the strenuous effect cancer can have on entire families and wanted to raise money for a charity that provides great support.
Mr Brett said: “Cancer can affect people mentally, emotionally, physically and financially. Some people don’t have immediate family to look to for that support, Macmillan is that support.”
As well as raising money for a good cause, the three fire fighters are also keen to raise awareness.
Mr Gilmore said: “I feel Society cares far too much for trending hair styles and body image.
“Brave The Shave not only provides kind donations for a great cause giving support to people who need it most it is also great for charity awareness.”
