Forensic detectives are continuing investigations in High Wycombe town centre after a man was murdered on Saturday evening.

UPDATE: Three people charged in connection with murder.

Hundreds of messages and tributes have been left on social media and at the scene of the murder.

A murder investigation was launched after the emergency services were called to the scene at about 8.50pm, with the victim pronounced dead at the scene after paramedics were seen giving him CPR.

Three men and a woman have today been arrested in connection with the murder.

Earlier today two 37-year-old men from Ealing were arrested on suspicion of murder and a man and woman from Beaconsfield have now also been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.

The 36-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man, as well as the men from Ealing, remain in police custody.

Police said the victim has not yet been formally identified but is believed to be aged in his twenties.

His next of kin have been informed.

Senior Investigating Officer, Det Chief Insp Ailsa Kent from the Major Crime Unit, said: “We are in the early stages of this investigation and we currently have two men in custody who are being questioned by detectives in connection with this death.

“At this time we believe that this was a targeted attack.

“Residents will understandably be shocked by what happened here last night.

"I would like to reassure you that this appears to have been an isolated incident involving people who were known to each other.

“Officers remain in the High Wycombe town centre today conducting enquiries and gathering evidence at the scene.

“I would ask that anyone who has any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, calls Thames Valley Police immediately via the 101 number.”

At least seven police cars and ambulance crews arrived to deal with the incident, with an initial police tape cordon set up on the High Street, near All Saints Church.

The cordon was then extended to near Eden Shopping Centre, towards the church and the Guildhall.

In an unrelated incident, four people were hurt during a late night attack in a similar spot of High Wycombe High Street earlier this month.

And, a man was seriously injured after a brutal stabbing in Downley last month.

There is no suggestion the two incidents are linked.
