Police have released CCTV images in connection with a gun being fired through the window of a house in Jubilee Road, High Wycombe on Sunday night.

Yesterday, a High Wycombe man spoke of his shock after a hole was blasted through his living room window at around 10.45pm with what he believes was a shotgun.

The police are yet to confirm the type of weapon used in the attack.

Three people were in the house at the time, but no one was injured.

A witness saw a person in dark clothing, possibly a man, running away from the scene, but no other description is available at the moment.

Deputy LPA Commander for High Wycombe, Ch Insp Rebecca Mears said: “If anyone recognises the person in these CCTV images then please contact police immediately as we believe they might have vital information that can aid our investigation.

“This is a very serious offence which has understandably left the victims shaken.

“Thankfully the occupants were not in their living room at the time of the offence and therefore no-one was injured.

“We believe that the incident could have been a case of mistaken identity and the victims were not actually the intended target.

“I would appeal to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the vicinity of Jubilee Road on Sunday or anyone who knows anything about the incident, no matter how insignificant you think the information is, to please search their conscience and contact the police.

“Thames Valley Police is conducting a thorough investigation into the offence and has conducted house to house enquiries in the area, but we need the help of the public to bring justice to the victims.”

Anyone with information that could help the investigation should call the Thames Valley Police enquiry centre on 101.
