A woman who was banned from owning horses after causing “unnecessary suffering” to two animals has been fined after a fresh RSPCA investigation found she had secretly bought another horse.

Donna Glenister, of Tapping Road, High Wycombe, has been forced to pay almost £2,000 after being caught breaking the court’s disqualification order for a second time in less than a year.

The 44-year-old was first banned from owning horses in 2012 and was later hauled in front of magistrates last June after RSPCA investigators found she had bought two horses and was keeping them in stables in Henley-on-Thames.

Her latest offence was discovered just a week after the 2015 hearing, with a member of the public tipping off the RSPCA over suggestions she had bought another horse.

Magistrates have now ordered Glenister to pay costs of £1,925.67 and her disqualification order has been extended for four years.

She was also given a nine-week curfew.

RSPCA inspector Rachel Smith said: “We went to the stables and we found Glenister was keeping a horse there, which she had owned for three months. We removed the horse from her care and he is currently being fostered.

“It is important to reiterate to the public that we rely on them to tell us if someone has breached a ban.

“We depend on the public to be our eyes and ears and we take breaches of bans very seriously - as do the courts.”

Glenister’s ban will now remain in place until 2020.
