A Wetherspoon pub in High Wycombe town centre will be kept open after the company scrapped plans to sell it.

The William Robert Loosley is no longer for sale after bosses decided to take the pub off the market.

Last summer, the company announced plans to sell the Oxford Road pub as one of a number of its pubs across the UK to be put on the market.

However, they have now made a U-turn and will keep both The William Robert Loosley and High Street pub, The Falcon.

Wetherspoon chief executive John Hutson said: “The William Robert Loosley was one of a number of pubs across the UK that we recently put on the market.

“However, after consideration, we have decided that it will remain as a Wetherspoon pub.

“We know that management and staff at the pub are happy with this decision and believe the pub’s loyal customers will welcome the decision too.”
