The accident left the girl with serious head injuries and she currently remains in a stable condition in John Radcliffe Hospital.

In a statement to the Bucks Free Press, a school spokesman confirmed one of their students has been involved in a traffic accident and had been taken to hospital by ambulance.

They added: “We are in close contact with the student’s parents.

“Our thoughts and very best wishes are with her and her parents at this time.”

The crash happened at about 8.05am yesterday and has left the community in shock.

Marlow Hill resident Martin Ekundayo said: “It [the incident] is awful. Very sad.

“This road can often be really busy with children going to and from school and I’ve always worried something like this could happen.”

Yesterday, police urged anyone who witnessed the collision to contact officers on 101 or speak to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
