A south Bucks business has been named as a company that inspires Britain, in a report compiled by the London Stock Exchange.

Hazlemere Windows in High Wycombe is among some of the fastest-growing and most dynamic small and medium sized businesses (SMEs) in UK, in the London Stock Exchange’s 1000 Companies to Inspire Britain report.

To be included in the list, companies needed to show consistent revenue growth over a minimum of three years, significantly outperforming industry peers.

The family owned business, which was established in 1985 and specialises in the design, manufacture and installation of replacement windows, doors and conservatories, now employs more than 100 local people.

Mark Austin, sales & marketing director, said: “For more than three decades the company has been managed astutely and we see the financial results of this at the end of every month, quarter and year.

“But to be impartially identified as one of Britain’s stand-out performers is incredibly rewarding and gives us extra impetus – if any were needed – to build upon our successes and continue in inspirational fashion.”

Writing in the report, chancellor George Osborne called “high-growth” UK businesses the “backbone of the British economy”.

Xavier Rolet, chief executive, London Stock Exchange Group, said: “High growth SMEs are the driving force behind the UK economy, developing the skills, jobs and growth we need.”
