A High Wycombe charity that helps homeless people is throwing a 70s-themed bash to raise money for its services.
Wycombe Homeless Connection in Castle Street, High Wycombe, is hoping to raise “a meaningful sum” towards its running costs. The charity helps homeless people “rebuild their lives” and offers help and support to those who have nowhere else to go.
The event, held at Davenies School on Station Road in Beaconsfield, on Saturday May 21, will see guests party in true 70s style with a DJ playing some of the decade’s greatest hits. Culinary treats will include cheese and pineapple on cocktail sticks, coq au vin and bottles of German wine.
The charity runs its shelter season from January to March each year and this year, offered a safe bed for the night to 38 individuals, successfully re-housing 30 of them. Volunteers cooked and served 1,592 hot meals in that time.
Tickets for the event cost £25 per person. To purchase tickets, email morleyfamily1039@aol.com.
