A 42-year-old woman fought off her attacker following a sexual assault in High Wycombe this week.

At around 10pm on Wednesday, May 4, the victim was walking down Roebuck Avenue in Micklefield when a man approached her from behind and grabbed hold of her.

The woman elbowed the man who let go and ran off in the direction of Misbourne Avenue and Hicks Farm Rise.

The victim was not injured during the incident which detectives are investigating as a sexual assault.

The man is described as white, 5ft 6ins with short dark hair.

The attack happened in Roebuck Avenue, High Wycombe.

Investigating officer, Det Con Matt Kent from Force CID based at High Wycombe police station, said: "We believe that this is an isolated incident however it was obviously very distressing for the victim.

"We are appealing for information from anyone that may have witnessed this offence or who may have seen anything suspicious in this area at this time.

"If you have any information about the incident please call the 24-hour Thames Valley Police enquiry centre on 101.

"No personal details are taken, information is not traced or recorded and you will not go to court."
