Students at a south Bucks school met A-list sports presenter Gabby Logan at its charity gala dinner and sports awards ceremony last Friday (May 6).

Pupils at Wycombe High School on Marlow Road, High Wycombe, met the star, who lives in Penn with husband Kenny Logan, as she hosted and presented the awards at Wycombe Old Town Hall on Queen Victoria Road, High Wycombe.

The evening celebrated the “sporting success” of the students and helped raise £4,000 for a new all-weather pitch facility.

Head teacher Sharon Cromie said: “It was a truly successful evening. We hope this facility will become an integral part of the school and local community.”

Jemima Copeman won Sportswoman of the Year and the school’s under-14 netball team won Team of the Year.

Tasha Saint-Smith, director of sport, said: “It was an absolute delight to celebrate the fantastic sporting achievements of our students.

“Gabby Logan was truly inspirational who not only spoke so passionately about sport, but also about how she made her way to the very top of her career.

“She is an outstanding role model for our students.”
