A dog was mauled to death by a Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross in a vicious attack in High Wycombe.

A woman was walking down the High Street near Iceland with a Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross on a lead when it attacked a Yorkshire Terrier tied up outside a shop at around 10.45am on July 25.

The dog, believed to be called Rosie, died as a result of its injuries.

A horrified eyewitness, who did not want to be named, tod the BFP Rosie was one of two Yorkshire Terriers tied up outside BrightHouse.

She said: "The woman was walking up the High Street when the Bull Terrier went at the tiny little dog.

"My husband tried to get in the middle of them and he managed to get the other dog away after reaching down and getting its collar undone."

She added: "I took the dog around to Temple End Vets and it was in a really bad way. I had to stop to give it mouth-to-mouth. She was alive when I got her there but she didn't make it."
