A "prisoner" received treatment from paramedics at High Wycombe police station after he was "taken ill" while on his way to police custody.

A picture taken of the man lying on the ground being treated by South Central Ambulance Service crews was tweeted by officers at about 5pm, but has since been deleted.

The picture appears to show the man sprawled on the ground in a police car park having possibly collapsed.

The man had earlier been arrested on suspicion of assault on a police constable and for a public order offence.

Bucks Free Press:

The deleted @TVP_Wycombe tweet.

It was on his way to the station, Queen Victoria Road, when TVP say he fell ill.

Paramedics were called to the town by officers and have since taken the man to hospital for more treatment.

No other details about the man have been confirmed, but the deleted tweet from @TVP_Wycombe referred to him as a "prisoner".
