Students and staff at Bucks New University are holding their own version of a triathlon today as they attempt to cycle, row and jog the length of the River Thames for Children in Need.

The fundraising effort, which aims to raise £300, is using equipment indoors and has been organised by Bucks New University Students’ Union and the GYM at the campus in Queen Alexandra Road, High Wycombe.

Participants will keep going for as long as donations keep being made.

Every £1 donated sees them continue on their way for another minute and when the pot is empty the participants stop.

A cake sale is also taking place to add to the amount raised.

Amy How, volunteering and societies coordinator at Bucks Students’ Union, said: “It’s really great we can all get together to support such an amazing cause.

“The triathlon has worked really well in getting everyone energised and the support from both staff and students at the University has been wonderful.”
