A High Wycombe woman’s view of a bin shed and a car park has made it into the top ten for horrible views across the UK.

Diane Harper, 58, is a finalist in an online blinds company’s Worst View 2016 competition, for her picture, which was taken out of her lounge window.

DirectBlinds.co.uk launched the competition in a bid to give away a set of blinds worth up to £250 to cover up any unpleasant sights.

Ms Harper said: “This is the view from my lounge window, of the apartment block bins and next door’s surgery car park. I’ve lived here for 18 months and my ideal view would be of the sea, or rolling hills.

“It’s great to find out that I’m a finalist.”

She faces stiff competition from fed-up residents across the UK, who sent in pictures of their own ugly views, including the toilet windows in a next-door pub, a peeling brick wall and a car park entrance.

David Roebuck, managing director of DirectBlinds.co.uk, said: “This is the third year running that we’ve held the Worst View competition and we’ve had more entries than ever before.

“It was difficult to choose our top 10 and will be even harder to choose our winner but Diana’s photo was certainly among the worst.”
