High Wycombe will be transformed into a winter wonderland on Saturday, as Bucks New University hosts a free festive family fun day - complete with ice rink.

A Ferris wheel, fairground rides, an indoor inflatable play zone and live music will also form part of the Christmas attraction on December 3.

A team of students studying Music and Live Events Management – called Bucks Live – will be hosting the event, which takes place at the university’s Queen Alexandra Road campus.

The day will include two live music stages with performances from the Holmer Green Senior School choir and rock band, while Wycombe Steel Orchestra will also be getting into the festive spirit by performing Christmas songs.

Course leader, Alan McBlane, said: “Winterland continues where our successful Buck Live spring events left off, with an exciting array of seasonal fun for all the family fun.

"For the first time we will have an all-weather skating rink and a ferris wheel, along with our proven favourites of fairground rides, hot food and drinks and the ever-popular indoor inflatable play zone.”

A 30-minute session on the skating rink can be booked in advance and costs £5 at www.seetickets.com/event/winterland/bucks-student-union/1041989.
