A 12-year-old boy was left with bruises and cuts after being punched in the face and body in High Wycombe.
Police say the boy was in Chequers Avenue at around 3.50pm on January 2, when a group of six or seven boys – aged around 13 or 14-years-old – approached him and attacked him.
The boy suffered bruising and cuts.
A 14-year-old boy from High Wycombe has been arrested on suspicion of assault by beating in connection with the incident and has been bailed.
The group were said to be wearing dark hooded jumpers with dark face coverings and Nike side bags.
Investigating officer PC Colin Targett, from High Wycombe police station, said: “This is a very serious incident which has left the victim shaken and injured.
“I would ask members of the public to contact me with any information they may have by calling 101.”
