A town centre pub has closed its doors ahead of a £430,000 refurbishment that will see it change its name.
The William Robert Loosely in High Wycombe closed on Sunday (July 16) and will be replaced with a new "contemporary" bar "designed for the aspiring fashionista, hipster, and stylist".
The pub - which is owned by Stonegate Pub Company - will also be renamed Chiltern Taps when it reopens on August 11 and will feature craft products, music and live sports.
Manager Steph Bellhouse said the old venue will be "completely unrecognisable", adding: “Wycombe has nothing close to our proposed offer, we’re working to make sure we give the town what it needs.
“We’re going for an independent vibe, keeping it local with adventurous and quirky local beers whilst showcasing local talent – I’ve been scouting Wycombe’s finest buskers already and we want more – there’s no rules other than playing great music.”
The massive refurbishment project will also see 15 new job roles created.
