A second teenage boy has been arrested in connection with an attack that saw a taxi driver sprayed in the eyes with an "unknown substance" in High Wycombe.

The taxi driver, a 43-year-old man, remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition following the incident on George Street at around 1am on Sunday (July 30).

A 15-year-old boy from High Wycombe was arrested on suspicion of GBH with intent yesterday (July 31) and was released under investigation last night.

Another 15-year-old boy, also from High Wycombe, was also arrested on suspicion of GBH with intent on Sunday and was released under investigation.

On the night the incident happened, the taxi driver was dropping off three customers in George Street, who left the taxi - a black Toyota Prius - without paying.

The driver followed the customers, who then paid the victim. He was then sprayed in the eyes with an unknown substance.

The customers fled the scene in an unknown direction.
