A multi-million pound pet hospital created by a vet who has appeared on television is to open its doors in High Wycombe next year.
Hamilton Specialist Referrals - a venture by Michael Hamilton, who has featured on TV shows like The Bionic Vet on BBC One and Channel 4's Vet on the Hill - will open in Cressex Business Park in February.
The 24-hour pet hospital, which is already being constructed on Halifax Road, will be for specialist surgical and neurological referrals for small pets including cats and dogs.
It will feature high-tech machines like an MRI and CT scanner suite as well as radiography and arthroscopy (key-hole surgery) facilities.
Michael, who lives in Marlow and has more than 20 years of experience in animal surgery, says the state-of-the-art hospital will be a "fun" place for nurses and surgeons to work.
He said: "Veterinary practice can be extremely busy and, at times, very stressful. As a profession, vets have one of the highest suicide rates in the UK and this is real concern.
"We will embrace a wide range of workplace measures to ensure the staff at the hospital feel relaxed, content, happy and valued."
