A hard-working football teacher has been given an emotional send-off by pupils, past and present, amid the news he will be returning to Ghana.
Edwin Yartey has helped youngsters perfect their talents on the pitch for more than 10 years as lead coach for Little Kickers South Bucks, but he bid farewell to his pupils on Saturday.
To give him a send-off to remember, Little Kickers South Bucks franchise owner James Donald helped organise a surprise with 50 former and current pupils and their parents at Royal Grammar School in High Wycombe.
James said: “We have always had good feedback from pupils and their parents about Edwin so we sprung this surprise on him for his last session to thank him and to say goodbye.
“He has been with us for many years and he has been really good for us in that time.
“It was really amazing - we had a great turn out and it was really emotional. There were some kids there he taught nine years ago.
“We only really started thinking about it a week before but we had a great response from parents.
“He was really pleased and loads of people brought him gifts and we got him some as well.”
