A sensory room for disabled children in High Wycombe has been given a makeover by volunteers.

Action for Children’s Merryfields Family Support Unit on Cressex Link provides residential short breaks to children with learning disabilities across the county.

Many of the children, aged between five and 18, also have physical, health or sensory needs, and the centre provides a safe environment while promoting independence.

A team of volunteers from Veolia Water Technologies took on the challenge of redecorating the sensory room, giving it an 'under the sea' theme to provide a relaxing environment for the children.

With donations from the Dulux Trade Centre and Advanced Interior Solutions in High Wycombe, as well as contributions from Veolia employees, the room was redesigned and painted ahead of an unveiling ceremony with Merryfields staff and residents.
