Police, the district council and charities came together to tackle anti-social behaviour, drinking and drugs in High Wycombe town centre last week.

Following complaints from members of the public and councillors about bad behaviour in the town, Thames Valley Police, drug and alcohol service One Recovery Bucks, Wycombe District Council and Wycombe Homeless Connection carried out the operation on Friday.

Four stop and searches were carried out, with drugs and stolen goods recovered, one person was arrested and three Section 35 dispersal notices were issued.

Several people were also referred to One Recovery Bucks for help with drugs and alcohol problems.

During the operation, more than 200 leaflets were handed out to members of the public to alert them of bag thefts.

The operation comes months after Thames Valley Police officers were slammed by Wycombe District Council for not doing more to tackle anti-social behaviour, with councillors branding Frogmoor a “nuisance” area of town that families are avoiding.

If you witness any suspicious activity or incidents of anti-social behaviour, report it to the Thames Valley Police enquiry centre on 101.
