SCANNAPPEAL held its Silver Screen ball last week where a capacity audience of nearly 200 people raised £15,500 for cancer and brain injury patients in Bucks.

The glittering event took place on Saturday at the world famous Pinewood Studios where guests were greeted by ‘Jack Sparrow’ and ‘Charlie Chaplin’ lookalikes.

Scannappeal chairman, William Baxter CBE welcomed guests on behalf of the charity, and consultant urologist Jonathan Greenland from Wycombe Hospital gave guests an overview of the vital work Scannappeal does to provide state of the art medical equipment for local hospitals.

All funds raised from the evening will go to Scannappeal’s current appeals for equipment for the early diagnosis of breast and bowel cancers and the rehabilitation of patients with brain injuries from heart attack, stroke, trauma or illness.

Businesses DirectSight and Michael Moore Life & Pensions were headline sponsors, with support from the Paperchain Partnership and Beaconsfield Fine Jewellers.

Music was provided by the Royal Grammar School Trad Jazz Band and the NBS Band.
